It's family first for Jennifer Nettles, who gave birth to her first child, son Magnus, last December. She took a career pause so she could enjoy life as a new mom, then decided to do a solo album all the while remaining a member of Sugarland.
Now, Nettles is starting to get back into that old routine of hitting the road and promoting her music -- in this case, the solo album -- albeit in a new way. Life on the road sure looks a little different for her these days!
Instead of dragging along lots of shoes and clothes, the Sugarland songstress needed to clear tour bus space for a crib.
Nettles, who revealed her baby weight loss secrets recently, shared a photo of the crib in the touring vessel, writing: "My how times change! Yep, that's a crib on a tour bus. Radio-land, here we come!!!"
With a new Rick Rubin-produced solo platter on the horizon, she needs to get out there and talk to radio and other media in order to get people talking about it and listening to it. Her first solo single, 'That Girl,' is out Aug. 5. Brian Mansfield of USA Today, who has heard it, says the song a similar perspective to Dolly Parton's 'Jolene.' The album release date remains TBD for now.
Needless to say, Magnus is one lucky little boy. He gets to go on the road with his cool mom, who makes sure he has all the amenities and comforts of home. That's love.
